Liberty Lifestyle Fabrics Winner!

I had the best mail day earlier in the week! These beautiful Liberty Lifestyle fabric swatch packs arrived at my door all wrapped up in the prettiest of packaging! I was very lucky to win the competition Liberty were holding on their facebook page @libertylifestylefabrics all you had to do was enter a project made using Liberty fabric, so I posted my Bloomsbury Gardens pillow I finished recently, and hey presto I won!!
They kindly sent me two swatch packs, one of Bloomsbury Gardens which I know I'll put to good use ;) and the brand new Stile collection! The colour's are so vibrant and features the most amazing designs inspired by Charles Rennie Mackintosh and the Art Nouveau period, which is very evident from the bold prints.

There's so much fabric! I'm going to have a good think about what to make before I get cutting - any suggestions?
After all this talk of Liberty I decided to put together a nice little fat quarter bundle of 7 prints from the Bloomsbury Gardens Colourway B collection in the Sew and Quilt shop, and It's going to be 20% off this weekend!! Grab yourself a bargain at only £17.60!
Perfect for creating some Christmas gifts for friends and family or gifting to yourself ;) don't worry I won't tell!
Have a good weekend everyone. xo

Christmas Reindeer Embroidery Pattern

Hi everyone, I hope you all are having a good week! My grand plans of finishing the maple leaf quilt over the weekend didn't pan out as I'd hoped because I couldn't get hold of any cotton batting, so instead I had some time to dream up new ideas and play with more Christmas fabrics!
I had an idea for a cute and kitschy reindeer embroidery after receiving this sweet little Cath Kidston Christmas gift guide through my letterbox, I loved the idea of a vintage style Rudolph with a bow on!!
So I got my sketchbook out and started drawing, eventually it turned into this! Stitching him up was so fun! I forgot how much I enjoyed embroidery, and it's a perfect project to get into the festive spirit, while watching Christmas tv!
You can purchase the PDF Rudolph the reindeer embroidery pattern in my etsy shop. He's only $2.99 / £1.93 so it hopefully won't break the bank! I have also included my floss colour codes so you can make one just like mine :)

I thought the reindeer pattern was calling out to be a pillow, of course ;) so after embroidering the design on an 11" piece of white cotton, I trimmed it down, and added border strips measuring 4" wide. Then cut the backing panels, and stitched all the way round the edge! It's a super quick project and could be perfect for gift giving.
Enjoy! Jessie, xo

Canadian Maple Leaf Quilt Top

I've been busy in the sewing room this week working on a new quilt - yes, finally! I've always wanted to try the Canadian maple leaf design because it's such a recognisable and striking quilt, and the block uses my favourite HST's which I just love! My blocks measure 9" and I've used 2" coins and sashing and a border to finish the top. So it's going to be a nice lap sized quilt.
It's my first, of many! handmade Christmas gifts I'm making for friends and family. This one is the biggest, so I thought I'd get this one out the way first :) it's for my nana - who doesn't read this blog ;)

Right, back to the task at hand! I'm planning to get it basted, quilted and have the binding done this week - I'm a super slooooow quilter, so it's quite a task for me, ha! Wish me luck ;)
Hope you're all having a fun week friends. xo

48 days... yep, that's how long it is until Christmas!! So I thought it was high time I started to crack on with some festive projects. I've started with some english paper piecing, which I'm planning to turn into, yeh, you guessed it ... a pillow! :D
I've been cutting into my Christmas fabrics from my Sew and Quilt shop, and it feel's good! Also a bunch form my stash :) Tell me, have you started on your holiday projects yet? I have a list long of handmade Christmas gifts I have to get done, and I'm feeling slightly overwhelmed, eek! xo
